Sehr geehrter Herr Ikaia-Purdy,

Mr. Ikaia Purdy,
I was at the Winfridia Italian Opera Gala last Friday evening. I wanted only to say the concert, the soprano and before all you have much exceeded my expectations for opera in Fulda. I was not surprised to read of your worldwide engagements. I am writing to request an undersigned photo and information about where I can find your recordings. I have never heard a voice even to yours. Many compliments,

Sehr geehrter Herr Ikaia-Purdy!

Aloha Mr. Ikaia-Purdy! I was at Rick Cheyenne's concert last night. We heard him in Wiesbaden a few weeks back, and couldn't miss the Sektfest concert. Loved his show. But what a fantastic surprise when you popped out of the audience and knocked us all on our asses with your voice. The aria gave us chicken skin. Then the Elvis duet. Man. We were stationed in Hawaii for 3 years, so we just loved seeing you.
You and Rick made our night! Mahalo,

Tosca, Karlsruhe 17 Maerz 2011

Dear Mr. Ikaia-Purdy, I have learnt from my voice teacher that today you have Birthday. We have met more than a decade ago as I sang in the Kinderchor in Carmen in Saarbrücken. I remember. You I think not. In the meantime I have been a great admirer of your Turandot in Trier and die Räuber in Karlsruhe last Spring. I am a 26 year old baritone. My teacher thinks I shall become a tenor as you did. As next I will come to your Gioconda premiere. My great respect for your singing, and best wishes for your birthday, Joachim Metz. |

Hi Keith,

Sehr geehrter Herr Ikaia-Purdy,
I Masnadieri.
Karlsruhe möge weiterhin Ihr „Second Home“ bleiben.
Vielen Dank! G. Lang

Dear Keith Ikaia-Purdy,
I Masnadieri in Karlsruhe – großartig!
Ihre Interpretation des Carlo einmalig!!!
Das Badische Staatstheater kann glücklich sein,
Sie im Ensemble zu haben.
Alle Solisten, ob A- oder B-Besetzung, sind
erstklassig und mit dem Orchester kann
Karlsruhe ebenfalls punkten.

Dear Ikaia,
Me again. We ( the usual group of 4 American ex-Pats) sat though Don Carlo again. We wanted to see it once with Dobzanska. Once again it was so fantastic musically. Maybe better than last time. Awesome cast. The production is a deal-killer though. I read it will not be seen again. A loss musically. (But what was the director thinking?!) We all agreed: You are a perfect Carlo! Willeit is pretty great too. Bravi!
Masnadieri was a joy from start to finish. New for all of us, though our German friends knew the Schiller. Another great Karlsruhe cast. This Carlo is crazy too. A specialty of yours. Sounds like an Otello role. We will come again when Dobzanska is on. But the girl who sang was great. (Don't have my program here; though it was all the same men as Don Carlo. Great.)
Aloha to you. And congrats. John & CO. |

Dear Ikaia,
Saw your Don Carlos last Saturday in Karlsruhe. It was a great night for you and all your fellow performers. We preferred it to the premiere cast. Still, the production is pretty bad - starts okay, then tanks. But musically it was a triumph. We liked the new conductor very much. Terrible Auto de fe scene. What were they thinking?! Hard to believe it was the same director as the brilliant Elisir. But your singing (all the singing) nearly made us forget the nonsense. Oh well. But it is so fine musically. Are they really doing no more performances? Share our bravos with your colleagues. I have never heard the first Posa duet better sung. Best wishes until Masnadieri. Will attend the second after we're back from the States.

Dear Mr. Ikaia-Purdy,
My belated congratulations of your thrilling Kalaf in Trier this past Summer. In Trier we have great sopranos. Great tenors are rare for us. Colleagues and I were planning on seeing the revival now in December. I now learnt that the performances are stricken. Pity for us. My daughter and I will come to Karlsruhe on 2nd of January for Don Carlos. We hope our favorite soprano Fr. Dobzanska will also sing. We have seen you with her already in Manon Lescaut. That it was which inspired us to come twice for Turandot. You know, I think, that Fr. Dobrzanska was our star here first. Best Christmas wishes and for the new year. Please share our greetings with Fr. Dobrzanska.

Keith Ikaia-Purdy singing the aria, "Nessun dorma" is my all time favorite! It doesn't get any better than this on any opera stage by any opera singer! First rate singing. |

Dear Keith Ikaia-Purdy,
I have now seen you as Andre Chenier in Kalrsruhe and in Boheme in Wien. My congratulations for your excelent performing. It is rare your mix of dramatic voice with mezzavoce. This I am teaching, trying, my students. You are learning from Bergonzi. He shall be proud. Do you make master courses? I would like for my studio an autogram foto.
Bravissimo,

Dear Sir or Homepage Publisher,
You should please update your Calender function. My wife and I have just attended your performance in Carmen in our local Wiesbaden theater. I looked to your homepage for the cast names and found no entry. Friends told that you sang Werther here also in the last time. This is also absent. Please update your Calender so my wife and I will know when you are to guest here again. Congratulations for your thrilling Don Jose. The production is unbelievable bad. We remained only for your excellent performing. We have heard Werther production is still worser. Pity for Wiesbaden. But people will still come for you when they know you will sing. Five of us Wiesbaden fans will come to Karlsruhe for you in Chenier next month. Happy Christmas.

Dear Mr. Ikaia-Purdy, I have seen you as Don Carlos now here in Copenhagen and in Oslo. My congratulations for your most excellent representations. Most especially I complement your great scene with Mrs Harteros in Act Two. But all was quite wonderful. Your type of dark tenor voice is rare in Scandanavian lands. My Oslo friend was very surprised, but this is for me Verdi singing. Despite the controversy at the end he is also convinced. We look forward to your soonest return. Aloha. |

Lieber Herr Purdy,
Herzlichste Gratulation |

Dear Mr. Ikaia-Purdy,
I wish to repeat here the heartfelt congratulations my son and I offered you at the artist entrance following last Sunday's Manon Lescaut performance. If such were possible, we think your DesGrieux topped even your gorgeous Jose here in Stuttgart. And although we had wished to see Fr. Dobrzanska, Fr. Niessen was a lovely surprise. Please do remember to send my son an autograph foto in the envelope he pressed into your hands when we met.
Most respectfully,
U. Rosbach |

Dear Sir,
I attended your San Sepulcro recital with Chiara Chialli last Spring. Belated bravos for a wonderful evening. I recommend that you upload some of your videos to youtube. Of course many excellent ones are already there, but your "O paradis" is among the finest I have ever heard! It deserves wider circulation. For that matter, so does the "Amor ti vieta." I look forward to your return to London; as far as I can tell from your website, you had only one very well reviewed Garden performance in Alzira. Trust me, we need you. My best regards for your admirable artistry.

Hello Keith,
I've never been fortunate enough to see you perform, but I knew your mother and father well. I worked at Camp Smith with your mother in the late '80's and met your dad on many occasions. They were very proud of you and Fi kept all of us in the office up to date on your career.
If I ever get back to Europe, I'll check your schedule and perhaps I can catch a performance.
Best regards,

Dear Mr. Ikaia-Purdy, I see I am the second one to write about your Pinkerton last weekend. You met my wife and me in the theater cafe and signed our program after the performance. I wanted only to say again what a pleasant surprise to find opera and singers at such a great level in Karlsruhe my new home. That's a big complement from the son of a old Met chorister. Please congratulate Miss Dobrazanska as well. We are coming with more ex-Pat friends to your Tosca tomorrow night. Break a leg! John Sanchez |

Dear Mr. Ikaia-Purdy
Yesterday (29th Jan.08) I attended your concert in Karlsruhe. Your performance as Mr. Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly really blew everyone away. Your voice also matched wonderfully with Barbara Dobrzanska. As I write and record symphonic metal music, I got new inspiration for new songs through you. Thank you! Best regards. Roger Buchmann |
