These recordings were chosen as broadly representative; their acoustic quality was not a factor. They are all from public performances (except Calaf's first aria, which is taken from a rehearsal where the conductors ‘sings' Liu). The recordings were made with various equipment in dissimilar environs. (Tracks 7, 8 and 11 are from fine, radio sources.) Still, one encounters the artist live, to thrilling effect. Listen to:
